Peter: "1) I am glad you agree these are questions all members should discuss. 2) As for policy, I beg to differ that policy questions are mere "fluff". Do we want or need Labour 2.0? Alan
Fair & important questions, let down by the rhetorical fluff about what type of party it will be, as you know full well it will be some form of non-Marxist electoral type party. There has been no indication whatsoever it would be anything other than that. Within those parameters the nuances of just exactly what form it takes & how it operates should genuinely be up for debate amongst members.
Hi Alan. Is there any chance this is a social Democrat or “liberal” effort to distract socialists and keep them out of Starmer’s hair? Starmer is certainly a fifth column for the fascists, so a lot of past leftist work has basically been blown apart like buildings from storm Eowyn. They can’t arrest everybody so they’ll have various methods for distracting left organizing.
I would not quite put it that way Ron. There are some good people in this project and I would not attribute bad motives to them. They do have mistaken views IMHO about how to build a new party.
Ron, you - rightly - say that Kid Starver is a Fascist. Fascist by temperament, by policies, by organisation. The guy IS a fascist, and judging by his early comments about the Gazan Holocaust, probably a full-blown Nazi too.
But you start off by associating social democrats and liberals with him! Are you saying in your world liberals and social democrats are also Fascist? FFS man. How many are pure enough for your 'socialism'?
Not denying the PTB use that very technique of distraction against left-wing groups (But not far-right groups - odd that), and I don't know enough about the Collective to tell if this concern is valid, but seriously - claiming liberalism and social democracy is akin to fascism, or is a willing front for fascism, is extremely dangerously Manichaean and puritan.

Apologies: Typo in cutline on cover photo. It is Karie Murphy, NOT Katie Murphy.
