Fascists not welcome

A five-minute video on the 27 July counter demonstration in London against Tommy Robinson and his far right thugs

It would be an exaggeration to say fascism has become mainstream in the UK.

But after watching Tommy Robinson address his deluded far right faithful in London's Trafalgar Square on Saturday afternoon ( 27 July) it would be fanciful in the extreme to think that racist and fascist-loving forces are growing only in continental Europe or the United States.

The times they are a changing. Spilling all across one of the UK's best known public spaces, more than 10,000 listened as Robinson spread his anti-immigrant and anti-Islamic message of hate.

Both mainstream politics and mainstream economics are offering millions no answers and the likes of Robinson, Nigel Farage and Marine Le Pen are having no problem finding growing audiences.

All the more reason to build the resistance. This took another step forward on Saturday when activists held a boisterous and upbeat counter demonstration. This video from THE LEFT LANE records their protest.
