I'm confused, who is the author of the 7 points listed above concerning a proposed new socialist party?

Hi William: The statement has a collective authorship, the people in an ad hoc group called "The 3 October Socialist Group." What do you think of the content?

Confused and confusing. My initial response to the proposal of the Collective was; Is this a new left of the Labour Party, party and if so, I'm not interested.

As to the 7 points listed here, I'm dubious, largely because of the individuals involved, all of whom are former? Labour Party members, so it still smacks of an 'alternative' to the Labour Party.

Frankly, where are the real new voices that Corbyn dumped when he turned his back on all those who voted for him back in 2017, given is allegiance lay first and foremost to the Labour Party (even as it stabbed him the back)?

If we're going to start a new, genuine, socialist party, it needs to be led by a new generation of socialists, not the same, old voices that have been around for decades, pushing the same old tired reformist nonsense.

Back in 2003, I attended the founding meeting of R-E-S-P-E-C-T and discovered that it was yet another front for the SWP, so what will the Collective be fronting I wonder?

Forgive me for being cynical but I've been around a long time, been there, done that and look at the shit we're in!

Well I am confused. Are you saying all the members of "The 3 October Socialist Group" are former members of the LP? 1) Some were members and still are; 2) Some of us never were. Moreover, the test for me is their current politics, not what party they once supported.

Well as I don't know who these members are, except for those that are named, who are all members or ex-members of the LP, what other conclusion can I come to?

As to their current politics, they're all left of the Labour Party, whatever that means with a now, overtly imperialiast LP. Frankly, I'm less than impressed.

We are not impressed with THE COLLECTIVE's ideas either ( as I think our doc is clear about).

Well, I don't even know what they are, the 7 points are rather generalised.
